The StarWars Tour takes you to the StarWars hotspots in county Kerry! The rugged coastal scenery, crashing waves, impressive Skellig Islands and gloomy skies were the perfect location to film the next chapter of the StarWars saga.
The tour takes you around the famous Ring of Kerry, with focus on the StarWars hotspots that lie off the beaten path. You will travel along narrow mountain and coastal roads on the remote Valentia Island and the beautiful Skellig Ring. Admire the distant views of Skellig Michael, an impressive rocky island that lies 11km off the coast, where part of StarWars was filmed.
Get inspired in the village of Portmagee, where the cast and crew were stationed during the filming. It is from here that the boats and helicopters left to go filming on the island. This colorful fishing village hasn’t always been the centre of the galaxy, but it will surely be known now by many StarWars fans. Luke Skywalker (Hamill) even had time to pop into the Moorings Bar in Portmagee to spend time with the locals and learn to pull a pint.

Lunch at the bar where the cast and crew stayed, dined, and were entertained is highly recommended! Must be prebooked. Food and drinks are not included in the tour rate and are payable on the day.
You can learn to pull a pint of Guinness, just like Luke Skywalker! Fee: €15 per person, including a certificate. And yes, you can drink the pint! Needs to be prebooked.

Even though our GPS sent us to the wrong meeting location and we were terribly late for our tour, Ester immediately made us feel at ease and re-organized our route so we could still see all the sites. She was so friendly and fun and my teenaged nephews - and massive Star Wars fans - were thrilled to get a beautiful view of The Skellig Islands and a tour of Portmagee. I’ve since recommended Ester and her husband Garritt to friends of mine who are planning a trip to Ireland later this year. Booking with them was the best decision we made on our trip. When we return to Ireland - and we can’t wait to do so - we will be giving them a call.
Had an excellent trip today with Gerrit. He was such a wonderful tour guide and took us to some fantastic places of the beaten path. We had a great lunch and even stopped at The Skellig Chocolate factory to taste chocolate. Gerrit was very informative and stopped for us to take pictures at numerous spots. I highly recommend his services if you want a Wonderful tour.
