Explore some of the highlights of Ireland as well as the most beautiful places off the beaten track! Enjoy stunning scenery including mystic mountains, rough cliffs, beautiful beaches, narrow and bendy roads, colourful villages, the famous Cliffs of Moher and the Rock of Cashel, and ancient treasures such as Ring Forts, Stone Circles, Old Churches and Castle Ruins.

As it is a private tour all is flexible and many stops can be made during the day to take photos and to breathe in the incredible scenery.

In the evenings, have a taste of the delicious Irish food, and go for a pint in one of the local pubs. Enjoy a Traditional Music session, and have a chat with the locals who always have a story to tell.

DAY 1: Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Cork

Start: Dublin (Airport or City)

Finish: Cork (stay 1 night)

DAY 1: Highlights

We'll start your Irish Adventure with a visit to the medieval town of Kilkenny. Visit the castle and explore the colorful streets. Next stop is the famous Rock of Cashel, a spectacular group of Medieval buildings high up on a limestone rock. Long before the Norman invasion the Rock of Cashel was the seat of the High Kings of Munster. It is also the site where St Patrick baptized King Aenghus in the 5th century. After the Rock we'll travel on to Cahir, where you can visit one of the largest castles in Ireland, Cahir Castle. We'll move on to Cork City for an overnight stay. In the evening you’ll have free time to explore the city. You can visit the English Market, St Fin Barre's Cathedral and Elizabeth Fort.

DAY 2: Cobh, Jameson Distillery & Kinsale

Start: Cork

Finish: Kinsale (1 night)

DAY 2: Highlights

Today we'll visit the seaside town of Cobh, that became an embarkation point during Ireland’s mass emigrations. If you claim Irish descent, then there is a good chance that your ancestors left Ireland through Cobh. It is also known as the Titanic’s last port of call in 1912. Visit the Titanic Experience to discover her story through the eyes of the passengers and the strong Irish links to Titanic. Next stop is a tasty one, the Jameson Distillery in Midleton. Enjoy a guided tour through the old distillery and enjoy a tasting. A great experience for history and whiskey enthusiasts alike! We’ll continue the journey to Kinsale. After a scenic drive to Old Head of Kinsale and Charles Fort, we’ll check in to Kinsale for the night. The colorful marina and town with many shops, pubs and restaurants, are well worth exploring.

DAY 3: Drombeg Stone Circle, Mizen Head, Bantry, Caha Pass, Molly Gallivans Cottage, Kenmare

DAY 3: Highlights

Our first stop of the day is the Drombeg Stone Circle, also known as the Druid’s Altar. We’ll continue the scenic drive along the Mizen Peninsula all the way to the Mizen Head visitor centre. Here you can take the famous 99 steps to the arched bridge, visit the museum, and enjoy the views of the spectacular cliff coast. Next stop is Bantry, where you can visit Bantry House, a historic house surrounded by beautiful gardens, overlooking Bantry Bay. We'll take the scenic coastal road from Bantry to Glengarriff, and travel over the Caha Pass. A lovely stop along the way is Molly Gallivans cottage, a 200 year old cottage and traditional farm. Experience the simple country lifestyle in rural Ireland before the days of electricity and modern conveniences. Have a taste of the home made Poitin (moonshine) that is still brewed according to Molly's secret recipe.

DAY 4: Beara Peninsula, Eyeries, coastal road, Allihies, Hag of Beara, Kilcatherine Church, Castletownbere, Healy Pass

DAY 4: Highlights

Today we will explore the Beara Peninsula. This part of the Southwest is still not discovered by tourist and gives you the feeling of going back in time! You will travel along small coastal roads offering great views of the Atlantic, and along the windy Healy Pass. You will visit some picturesque, colorful Irish villages like Ardgroom and Eyeries. For those who are interested in history and ancient sites, the Beara peninsula also has a lot to offer. From stone circles, the ruins of Dunboy Castle, and old copper mines, to Ireland’s largest Ogham Stone with ancient Celtic inscriptions. Enjoy lunch or a drink in McCarthy's Bar in Castletownbere, winner of "Irish Pub of the Year".

DAY 5: Ring of Kerry, Coomakista, Waterville, Skellig Ring, Portmagee, Valentia Island, Cahergal Ring Fort

DAY 5: Highlights

Explore the Undiscovered Ring of Kerry! You will travel part of the famous main Ring of Kerry and will also get to see the most amazing hidden gems that lie off the beaten track. Travel over mountain passes and along narrow coastal roads, all offering great views of the spectacular scenery the Ring has to offer. Highlights of the day: Coomakista Pass, Skellig Ring, Portmagee, Valentia Island, Cahergal Ringfort.

DAY 6: Dingle Peninsula, Inch Beach, Menard Castle, Dingle Town, Slea Head coastal drive, ancient Beehive Huts, Coomeenoole Beach, Dunquin Pier, Dingle Town

DAY 6: Highlights

Today we will explore the Dingle Peninsula, a beautiful part of Ireland. You’ll travel along a windy narrow coastal road that is one of the most scenic routes in Ireland and part of the famous Wild Atlantic Way. Here at Slea Head breath-taking coastal scenery and magnificent views are guaranteed. Visit the tranquil Coumeenoole beach and Dunquin Pier. Step back in time as you visit ancient treasures like the Beehive huts or the Gallarus Oratory. Take in the amazing views from the top pf the Conor Pass, Ireland’s highest mountain pass. Enjoy a stroll around the colorful Dingle town and marina.

DAY 7: Kilkee Cliffs, Loop Head lighthouse, Ennis

Finish: Ennis (1 night)

DAY 7: Highlights

From Killarney we’ll drive to Tarbert, where we'll take the car ferry over the river Shannon. Hopefully you'll spot some dolphins! On the other side of the Shannon we will drive a scenic route around the Loop Head Peninsula, amazing coastal scenery. We’ll visit the impressive Kilkee Cliffs and Loop Head lighthouse. Then we'll move on to Ennis for an overnight stay. This town is famous for traditional Irish music.

DAY 8: Cliffs of Moher, Burren, Galway

DAY 8: Highlights

On today’s agenda is a visit to the famous Cliffs of Moher. Here you'll have a good bit of time to explore the cliffs, and go for a cliff top walk. We'll travel to Galway along the beautiful Burren coastal road, a unique limestone landscape.  Last stop for today is Galway, where we will stay overnight for the next 2 nights. Galway, City of the tribes, has lots to offer when it comes to culture, music, history and shopping!

DAY 9: Connemara, Cong, Killary Fjord, Kylemore Abbey

DAY 9: Highlights

On today's program is a tour of the Connemara. A unique and wild landscape with bogs and lakes, and breath-taking coastal scenery. Oscar Wilde has described Connemara as "a place of savage beauty". The pretty village of Cong was featured in the movie The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. We’ll drive the scenic road along the Killary Fjord and make a stop at Kylemore Abbey that was built as a beautiful castle in 1868, and is an Abbey and home to the Benedictine Nuns since 1920.

DAY 10: Clonmacnoise Monastic Site, Trim Castle and Hill of Tara

Start: Galway

Finish: Dublin Airport (or city - extend your stay)

DAY 10: Highlights

The last day of your Ireland Tour takes you from the West back to the East. First stop is Clonmacnoise, the remains of a monastic site that was built in the 6th century. Here you’ll find the remains of a cathedral, round tower, high crosses, and several churches. Next stop is the famous Trim Castle, the largest, best-preserved and most impressive Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland. well finish the day with a visit to the Hill of Tara, once the ancient seat of power in Ireland. It is said that 142 Kings have reigned here in prehistoric and historic times. Sitting on top of the King's Seat at the Hill of Tara is one of the most famous monuments - the Stone of Destiny. With this day filled with history our Tour of Ireland will end. We'll drop you off at your accommodation near Dublin Airport, so that you can take a flight home the next day, with a bag full of great memories!

This sample 10 day vacation is based on starting from Dublin Airport on day 1, and finishing near Dublin Airport late afternoon on day 10. If you are planning to stay a few days in Dublin City as well, you can plan that before or after your tour.

Once your itinerary is designed and your travel dates are confirmed, your accommodations can be booked. We’d be delighted make the arrangements for you. For an authentic Irish experience, we recommend getting a good mix between hotels, B&B’s, and perhaps a Castle Hotel or Manor House. If you prefer to organise your own accommodation you are welcome to do so, and we’d be happy to offer suggestions!
