GOLF IN IRELAND - INFO AND TIPS

Golf Courses

Ireland is home to over 400 golf courses, including more than a third of the world’s link courses on this one island. The Emerald Isle is a golfer’s paradise, boasting some of the most historic and scenic golf locations in the world. You can find all golf courses by county on the Golf Ireland

Tee Time

It’s a good idea to always book your tee-time in advance, especially during the summer season.

Dress Code

The Irish weather might be unpredictable but that doesn’t mean you can’t play all year round, especially on a link. April to October is the best time and with those long summer evenings, you can play until 10pm and still make it to the 19th hole.

Season

Most golf clubs in Ireland are relaxed and informal with a basic dress code, but different clubs have different rules. Many clubs will only allow soft spikes. Do check in advance what rules apply. Always bring waterproof gear and sunscreen just in case.

Golf Clubs

If you are not bringing your own clubs, you can rent them at many clubs, or hire them before you fly and pick them up at the airport (clubstohire.com).
